Sources of noise pollution can be grouped into two — the indoor source and the outdoor source. Urban areas are noted to have higher noise pollution compared to rural areas because of the loud noises coming from the outside source.

Someone who is always exposed to loud noises is prone to developing health problems like sleep disorder and high blood. Too much exposure to loud noises can also lead to hearing problems. Noise pollution can also affect one, psychologically. Constant exposure to loud noises can make one become irritable, stressed, aggressive and can easily be annoyed. These effects are not just observed in humans. Animals tend to have a change in behavior for noise can disrupt their communication with others.

Because of the increasing problems relating to noise, different places decided to create laws that can regulate the noise, thus, lessening the noise pollution in a certain area. Some laws created totally prohibit loud noises in the entire day and there are also some laws that prohibit loud noises at certain time of the day.
